This did not work, the switch was created but I lost all network connections. So from the hyper-v manager I created a new virtual switch. I installed hyper-v again but this time it did not create a switch, not sure why. Rebooted and made sure everything was working (non-hyper-v). I then rebooted and reinstalled the network adapter using the latest device drivers. Basically removed everything that resembled a network adapter. Removed all instances of the hyper-v switch from the device manager (was surprised there was a few). Uninstalled the network adapter software.

Basically the virtual switch stopped working. But then I noticed that the clients on hyper-v were no longer connected. No longer kills the network connect but does not connect :(īasically I uninstalled the hyper-v and reinstalled, this worked fine for the VPN and network. The following information was included with the event:Įdit: After installing / uninstalling a few times I have the Hyper-V and standard adapter working but VPN only works if I disconnect the Hyper-V. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The error code returned on failure is 868. Looking at the logs messages from the event viewer I do see two things of note:ĬoId=: The user SYSTEM dialed aĬonnection named which has failed. I am outside of the company LAN and trying to VPN into it.

I installed the application suggested but am unsure which logs/events/other things to look at, suggestions?īut it should be noted that based on the error message the VPN never connected so policy is unlikely the problem. So again thanks for the help, seems to be working now so I will call it closed and hope it stays that way :)

#Hyperswitch does not work how to#

I am not sure how to force the system to create another switch automatically but that seems to be the problem. Most likely some setting, I did do a quick check and other than the name I did not see anything different in the properties but as I said I am not too sure what is being done when the switch is being created by the system but it is causing a problem. At this point the VPN started working again after reboot. To make a long story short I opened the hyper-v manager, switched the new virtual machines to the old v-switch (the one I created), and removed the newly created switch via device manager. Looking at the network adapters I noticed that a new Virtual Hyper switch was added which I assumed was causing the problem. I then started doing some debugging with VS 2015 and the Windows phone emulator and the original problem started again. The next day it started working (no clue why) and it continued to work for a few days. In answer to your question, the problem was when I attempted to connect to the VPN it indicated it could not find the endpoint via IP or name. Sorry for the slow response, was trying to make sure it was really working.

#Hyperswitch does not work update#

I think it is the vEthernet and I think it was an update but it is hard to tell which one because it does not happen all the time but it is getting worse and pretty muchĪny suggestion on either had to determine the problem and fix it? It was working fine for years and this only started a month or so ago.

If I don't attempt to connect to the VPN and kill the network connection shutdown/restart work fine. The system says shutting down and the screen goes black but the computer never turns off, I have to hold the Note doing a shutdown from windows does not work. The only way to resolve the problem is to turn off the computer and turn it back on. Note if I do a diagnose on the vEthernet after rebooting I have to re-enable the adaptor because I have tried diagnose on the adaptors but it just fails with no suggestions. When this happens I am no longer able to connect to the network at all.Īfter a short time the ! will appear on my LAN and show me disconnected. Local Area Connection Realtech PCIe LAN connector, vEthernet (Hyper-V virtual Ethernet Adapter), and a Company VPN.Īs long as I don't connect the VPN it all works fine but 9 out of 10 ten times when I attempt to connect the VPN the VPN gives an error about not being able to resolve the name. In network connections I have three adaptors.

#Hyperswitch does not work windows 10#

I am currently using Windows 10 but the problem started about a month ago in Windows 8.1 PRO. I was told to move this from the Window 10 support forums here and I am not sure where so please excuse if I guessed wrong.
